First of all, I'm SORRY for being the worst blogger EVER. I know it's been over a month since I've really done anything on Xanga and I'm sorry to leave you all hanging. My excuse? I had a very intense August. Nothing like taking graduate level summer classes to stress you out. So, I'm here now and I'm going to try to be better about being here on an at least semi-regular basis.
Updates for y'all:
All is good on the baby front. I'll be 23 weeks along this Thursday and it feels great to be past the halfway mark. We found out on August 28th that we're having a boy, so we're really excited about that. We've decided to name him Jack Stephen (Stephen is my father's name). Here's the most recent picture of our baby boy:
Life with my mother is stressful as usual. She's got a lot going on in her personal life that is adding weight to the already shaky foundation of recovery she's built for herself, so I'm just doing my best to talk her through things without wanting to wring her neck.
Over labor day weekend I took a trip to Connecticut/New York with my friend Brook and it was AMAZING. Just the sendoff for summer I needed. Some highlights:
On the beach in Greenwich, CT.
The Starry Night by Van Gogh at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC.
Phantom of the Opera on Broadway!!!
The Friends apartment in Greenwich Village, NY.
Me, geeking out in front of the Friends building.
One of the beautiful scenic views of Connecticut.
Brook and I in front of one of the covered bridges we saw in CT.
Basically, a fantastic trip. I could see myself living on the East Coast someday, for sure.
That's about all that's new in my world. Fall semester started last week so I'm back to my normal routine of juggling school, work, violin lessons, etc. Even though it can be stressful sometimes, I prefer to stay busy. I get bored sitting still for too long.
I hope all is well with everyone on here! I promise I'm going to try to be better about keeping up with everyone, so thanks for sticking with me.

It's a year for boys! One of my friends had a boy a few months ago, I have two friends due in November who are both having boys, I'm having one, you're having one... was there too much estrogen in the world or something? :P
@ChocolateCoveredKittens - I think you're on to something! One of my neighbors is pregnant and she's also having a boy. They say it's random, but jeez...
Hooray for trips, babies, and all things Friends!
(Also, love your purple dress!)
@Blue__Summer - That purple dress is brought to you by Gap. Oh how I love mass manufactured products!
That's a lovely name, I always liked Jack personally. You are ABSOLUTELY GLOWING!!!!!!!!!!! It *looks* as though you're having a godo pregnancy. You're getting pretty big!!! It's hard to believe that you're halfway through, gosh it goes so fast!!!
I'm so excited for you :)
Aw congrats!! You're the third person I know that's having a boy!
@haloed - Well the baby's about the size of a papaya right now so my baby bump is right on schedule. And thanks, I'm pretty excited myself.
@iStephanieMarie - Thanks! Apparently having a baby boy is all the rage right now. How lucky I am to be so "with it."
Of all the things from your trip, I am the most jealous of the Friends building. LOL!!! Well, that and Starry Night.
I wonder what that building is used for now?
@BohemianLamb - It's my understanding that the building is a regular apartment building. The little red section at the bottom is a cafe of some sort.
@LultimaNotte - Heh, can you imagine living there? "You know the building used in Friends?" "Yeah?" "Just look for that, that's where I live"
@LultimaNotte - Still big!!! He'll be such a little darling. I know this is going to sound weird.... but I was in school for Registered Massage Therapy, and we learned how to do infant massage.
And I don't have my own child but man, I will DEFINITELY use it. I could probably link you with a neat little sheet on how to do it. It helps promote weight gain for babies, decreases colic, helps your baby sleep, as well as it's great for bonding! (which can sometimes be an issue for dad since he didn't have the baby growing inside him for 9 months).
I know this sounds really weird... haha, but I hope you'll consider it. It's truly a wonderful thing to do with your child, and for your child.
Anyways, take care :)
just great to hear from you Andy.
I've been wondering about you.
Omg you're gorgeous!!! That baby bump fits you so well ^_^
And you made me totally jealous, geeking out in front of the Friends apartment!!! I'm now dying to go there :D
Awww....a baby boy! I'm so happy for you! The trip to NYC/CT sounds awesome!
Good luck with school- grad school is hectic!
Good Luck.
@BohemianLamb - That would be SO sweet. I'd be so happy!
@haloed - I've actually heard of infant massage before! They offer a class on it at the hospital where I'll be delivering, so I already have a little bit of information on the topic. Thanks for offering though!
@Bricker59 - It's good to be back.
@xxmaddychanxx - Thank you soooooo much!!!
I highly recommend the Friends apartment if you're in NYC. It's in a really fun neighborhood to visit. Plus, it's one of the only things you can do for free there.
@bookmuncher - Thank you! Truer words have never been spoken (about grad. school). How are your studies going?
@shunny - Thanks!
@LultimaNotte - LOL. School's been hectic...lots of lines of Greek and Latin to do for sure!
@bookmuncher - I'm so envious of you and your Greek!!!
@LultimaNotte - LOL. Thanks! But at the same time, I feel that I am going to pull out all of my hair because of all the Latin I must do. Trust me, it's a double edged sword!
very pleasant reading and nice pics!
Congratulations on your baby!
Ultrasound photos can be so amazing....
@aromes - Thank you!
@Passionflwr86 - Thank you so much! It's crazy the details that those ultrasound photos pick up these days. Makes me love technology. :)
